What is Steam Turbine Fire-Resistant Oil Regeneration Filter?

The fire resistant oil used by steam turbines in power plants often produces acidic substances due to the influence of high temperature, high pressure, oxidation and other factors. The accumulation of these acidic substances in the lubrication system will cause corrosion and wear on the metal surface and accelerate the aging and damage of the equipment. In addition, acidic substances will also reduce the acidity and alkalinity of the lubricating oil, make it lose its lubricating performance, increase the friction and wear of the lubricating system, and cause failure and damage.

 

Therefore, the purpose of deacidification of turbine fire-resistant oil is to reduce the content of acidic substances in lubricating oil, extend the service life of lubricating oil and protect the normal operation of lubricating system. The content of acidic substances in the oil can be reduced by adsorption, separation, pyrolysis and other treatment using a regeneration device containing adsorbent and catalyst.

How Does the Regeneration Device Work?

The steam turbine fire-resistant oil regeneration device is mainly used to treat the pollutants and acid substance in the EH oil system to protect the normal operation of the fire-resistant oil system. The acid reduction process of regeneration unit is as follows:

1. Microfiltration: The coarse filtered fire-resistant oil is filtered by high-precision cellulose filter element to filter tiny impurities and pollutants with diameter less than several microns, improving the cleanness and stability of fire-resistant oil.

2. Regeneration: After microfiltration, the fire-resistant oil enters the regeneration unit. Under the high temperature and high pressure environment, the acidic substances, colloid, precipitates, etc. in the oil are adsorbed, separated and pyrolysed by molecular sieves, activated carbon and other materials to achieve oil regeneration.

3. Filtration: The regenerated fire-resistant oil is filtered through a layer of fine filter element to ensure that the regenerated oil completely meets the use requirements and ensure the normal operation of the lubrication system.

Commone Types of Regeneration Filter

Common filter elements to reduce the acid value of fire-resistant oil include deacidification filter element, resin filter element and cellulose filter element. These filter elements can adsorb or neutralize acidic substances and effectively reduce the acid value of fire-resistant oil. It is usually made of special filter materials, with good corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance and high filtration accuracy, which can effectively remove the acid substances in the oil and prevent the corrosion and damage of the equipment by the acid substances.

 

The following are some common types of fire resistant oil regeneration filter elements and their characteristics:

Acid removal filter element: this type of filter element can remove the acid substances in the oil and reduce the corrosion effect on the steam turbine. It is applicable to the environment where the oil contains more acid substances. Common types include diatomite filter element 30-150-207, ion resin filter element, activated alumina filter element, etc.

 

Cellulose filter element: this type of filter element is made of relatively solid material, which can filter small particles, and is suitable for the environment with more small particles in the oil. The commonly used type is cellulose filter element SH-006.

 

Taking the above factors into consideration, the selection of fire resistant oil regeneration filter element shall be determined according to the specific application environment and requirements. Generally speaking, if the main pollutants in the oil are acidic substances, it is recommended to select the acid removal filter element; If the oil mainly contains small particles, it is recommended to select cellulose filter element with high filtration accuracy.
